A walk layered with history
A gentle walk through the tea estate and down to the waterfall — not a hike, a reading of the land. Along the way: the area’s history across the pre-colonial, colonial and post-colonial eras, including the Mau Mau independence struggle; the herbs and plants underfoot; and how tea is picked and processed on the hills around you.
Join a guide on the weekend and hear it told first-hand.
History in the ground
Pre-colonial to Mau Mau to today, read where it happened.
Down to the waterfall
A gentle route through the tea rows to the water at the estate’s edge.
Plants & tea
Herbs and their uses, and how the top two leaves and a bud become tea.
