aperio — “I open”
A Venetian
in Tigoni.
Two terroirs that rhyme, worlds apart — a Venetian, translated onto a Tigoni ridge.

Two terroirs
The foothills of the Dolomites and Tigoni share a geography few would guess.
Swap the Prosecco vineyards for the tea plantations and the land answers back the same way — rolling hills, cool air, rich soil, an elevation that changes the light. Our founder, Ike, carries that crossing in his own blood: West African by origin, born and raised in the foothills of the Dolomites, in northeastern Italy.

Four truths we designed from
The view is the brand
Aperio — Latin, “I open”. The name is the promise: 180° of unobstructed landscape that opens the eye and, with it, the mind. Every decision starts here — breathing room as luxury, the horizon broadened until it becomes the whole of our identity.
Sprezzatura is the method
Studied carelessness — the art of making the difficult look inevitable. We refuse the forced, artificial rustic aesthetic that saturates the market. Instead: informal chic, entirely considered, never showing its working.
Tigoni is the place
Italian discipline, African landscape, one visual truth. Not fusion as gimmick — Italian method applied honestly to what actually grows here, at this latitude, this elevation.
Convivium is the purpose
We gather people around food and shared experience — the guided walk, the open fire, the long table — because togetherness is the point. A quiet stand against the loneliness epidemic, made one table, one afternoon at a time.
Four truths we designed from

Some views change what you see. This one changes how you see.
Aperio sits at the edge of the plateau, 1,800 metres up, where the tea hills fall away into an unbroken horizon. It is the moment the road through the plantation ends and the view begins — the moment the city releases its grip.
We call our guests horizon broadeners. Broaden the physical horizon and you broaden the mind, the conversation, your sense of what's possible.

We don't import Italy. We translate it.
Our founder grew up in the Veneto — radicchio from the fields, a way of cooking that never needed to announce itself — with West African roots, where the intensity of spice, smoke and fermentation is a language spoken fluently from childhood. That productive tension governs everything he cooks.
The technique and structure are Northern Italian; the land, the ingredients and the instinct are African. He couldn't source San Daniele and sell it honestly in Kenya, so he learned to cure local pork with Italian technique and Tigoni tea leaves. Every substitution became a discovery.
Not fusion — fusion is a concept. Aperio is a consequence.

Eighty percent from twenty miles.
Farm-to-fork isn't a slogan here. It's a radius. Around 80% of what reaches your table comes from within 20 miles (32 km) of the ridge, bought directly from the people who grow, raise and make it. No middlemen, no anonymous wholesale. Our own beds sit in full view of the deck, and the charcuterie and ageing room turns each season into something you can keep tasting through the year.
Long communal tables, a kombucha-led bar, and all the time in the world. The table is never just the table.
Where the table is never just the table.
