Thirty minutes from the city. A lifetime from it.

A lifetime from it.

On the tea plantations above Tigoni, in the Limuru highlands — thirty minutes from Nairobi, and a long way from its hurry.

Getting here

Two roads into Tigoni. Pick the one that suits where you're coming from.

The Kiambu Route

Suits you if you're coming from:

Thindigua, Runda, Gigiri, Rosslyn, Garden City, Roysambu, Mirema, Kahawa West, Ruiru, Kenyatta Road, Thika, Juja, CBD.

  1. 01

Head north on Kiambu Road from Nairobi. Continue through Thindigua toward Kiambu town — about 20 km from the city.

  2. 02

At the Kwa DO junction in Kiambu town, turn west onto Kiambu-Limuru Road.

  3. 03

Continue through Ndumberi and Riabai toward Githiga.

Coming from Thika, Juja, Ruiru or Kenyatta Road? Take Kamiti Road (C63) from Ruiru, southwest through Tatu City to Kirigiti — you'll join Kiambu-Limuru Road without passing through Kiambu town centre.

~30–40 min from central Nairobi

The Limuru Route

Suits you if you're coming from:

Lavington, Kilimani, Kileleshwa, Karen, Ngong, JKIA, Mombasa Road, CBD.

  1. 01

Head north-west on Waiyaki Way from Nairobi, through Westlands and Kangemi.

  2. 02

Continue on the A104 through Gitaru and Rironi into Limuru town.

  3. 03

At Limuru town, turn east onto Kiambu-Limuru Road, heading back through Tigoni toward Githiga.

Coming from JKIA or Mombasa Road? Take the Nairobi Expressway to the James Gichuru junction, then continue on Waiyaki Way. Toll-free alternative: the Southern Bypass to Gitaru, joining the A104 before Rironi.

~35–45 min from central Nairobi

Final approach — both routes

From Githiga, follow Kiambu-Limuru Road toward Tigoni. Look for the Aperio wayfinder sign at the junction — follow it in from the main road. You'll find us where the road meets the view.

Other ways to get here

By taxi or ride-hail

Uber, Bolt, Faras and Little Cab all serve the Tigoni area. Note that return trips from Tigoni can be harder to book quickly — a day-rate private taxi is more reliable if you're staying a few hours.

By matatu

Route 116 (Town – Tigoni – Limuru) runs directly into Tigoni. Route 100 (Town – Kiambu) takes you to Kiambu town — a short boda or taxi onward, or from Ndumberi-Githiga Bus Station, completes the trip. Route 106 (Town – Ruaka – Banana) suits those coming from Runda, Gigiri or Rosslyn.

By shuttle — experience guests

Coming for one of our experiences? We run a 15-seater shuttle from ABC Place, Westlands, departing at 11:00. Add your seat when you book — an optional add-on at checkout on the experiences page. [Return time TBC]
